Reiki, meaning Universal Life/Light Energy, is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. A Reiki Energy Healing promotes healing by easing soreness, aches, and pains. It may also boost the immune system, eliminate energy blockages, and repair old patterns. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what animates us. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that can benefit anyone. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

According to traditional Indian medicine, there are seven energy centers along the spine, located at major branchings of the human nervous system, beginning at the base of the spinal column and moving upward to the top of the skull. The health of each chakra correlates to the optimal functioning of specific areas on physical, mental, and emotional levels.
